Introduction





Welcome to my humble, totally not a copy and paste blog! Here, we will be talking about the childhood of every Crash Bandicoot's fan who was born in the 90s, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-fueled. Now many of you know, the original game known as Crash Team Racing debuted in 20th October of 1999 and acted as the fourth installment in the Crash Bandicoot series. 19 years later, Activision announced the remastered version at The Game Awards on 6th December 2018 and that made a lot of people excited, including ME!

The original CTR was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony themselves for the PlayStation 2 console which got praised highly by the critics. As for the remastered version which is developed by Beenox, Activision set it to be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 21st June 2019 worldwide. I will be breaking down some parts of the game like the story and the characters involved as well as the similarities between the old and the new versions and previews of both videos and in game screenshots. GAMEPLAY To start off, let us examine the gameplay section which is always the crucial part of any game. For those who are unfamiliar, CTR: Nitro-Fueled is a kart racing game in which the player controls characters from the Crash Bandicoot universe, most of whom compete in karts. While racing, the player can accelerate, steer, reverse, brake, hop or use weapons and power-ups with the game controller's analog stick and buttons. Two distinct forms of crates are scattered throughout the tracks and arenas of Crash Team Racing . Crates with question marks (?) on them hold power-ups and weapons, which can be obtained by driving through and breaking apart said crates. When the player collects a weapon or power-up, it will appear in a box at the top of the screen.
